you can get paid up to $5000/month to teach & live in japan

Packed with rich culture, delicious food, and stunning views, Japan is a fantastic destination for both travel and teaching abroad.

If you've ever thought about joining the Peace Corps, you're not alone.

It's also a popular teaching location, since Japan provides teachers with comprehensive benefits and competitive salaries.

Teachers can expect to earn a salary between $1,700 - $5,000 monthly.

Your salary will vary based on your experience, the type of school you're working at, and your credentials.

For example, with the Jet Programme, teachers can earn an annual salary of $27,000 during their first year teaching.

Despite Japan's high cost of living, many teachers have expressed being able to save money during their time abroad.

Common benefits for teachers in Japan include flight reimbursements, housing, transportation passes, and free meals while teaching.

So what are some of the common qualifications to teach in Japan?

Like teaching English anywhere in the world, you'll need to be a native English speaker and obtain your bachelor's degree.

Applicants with a CELTA or TEFL certificate and/or previous years of teaching experience have a higher chance of securing their ideal placement (and getting a higher salary!)

Application season for teaching in Japan typically runs through March - April and August.

August marks the start of public school semesters and hiring season. For private language schools, you can apply year round!
